Earlier, we had discussed the local breeds found in North India and South India. Here, the Dog breeds of East India are different in their kind. Though the east part of India does not cover a wide variety of dog breeds but yes! it does have some special breeds that we have come across.
The list of the dog breeds located in eastern side are as follows:
This breed is an originating canine breed and found in the areas of Andhra Pradesh. Jonangi were often used for taking care of the livestock like ducks. They are an extremely smart type of dogs and easily trainable. Their coat is short, shiny and is one of the unique top quality of this type.
For Pandikona, there is no such breed standard yet, they can come in all sizes and coloring.It is the healthy breed but rarely known among the people. These are friendly and homely companions and are very adaptive to all sort of seasons. It is famous for hunting, guarding, and found in southeastern part of the Andhra Pradesh.
The Bully Kutta is better known as the “Beast from the east” because of its unbelievable shoulder muscles and awesome lock-jaw strength. It looks very aggressive and it is a native of India and Pakistan. This dog is very well built in personality and weighs between 150-170 pounds. They were primarily trained for the function of big-game searching. Further, this breed is considered to be very noble and intelligent. They are high energy dogs and loves to play with kids if well raised.
Unfortunately, Bully Kutta is now used a lot in dogfighting in the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. This beautiful dog is kept in cruel and harsh conditions and often tortured to achieve high ferocity. Dogfighting is a cruel crime and the people doing it should be punished.
